The Stud & Our People
Bauhinia Park Charolais stud is a family owned and operated business founded by Jeff and Raelea Holzwart in the mid 90’s commencing with around 40 cows. The stud has since grown to where we are now joining around 180 top quality females with the resulting young sires sold at our Annual Bull Sale.

Located just 30km East of Emerald in Central Queensland, the majority of the Charolais herd are run on our property ‘Kensington’. Ryan & Rachel Holzwart are now based at 'Kensington' and run the Charolais stud herd.

Jeff and Raelea still love their cattle and are heavily involved in the breeding program. They live nearby on ‘Grandridge’ where the majority of the Angus females are run.
Breeding Philosophy
We are dedicated and passionate about breeding the most consistent and best quality cattle we can breed. Many hours are spent sourcing the best genetics available worldwide using extensive A.I and embryo programs along with overseeing the best genetic mating for our herd sires in the paddock. These measures help provide our customers with an article that they can have full confidence in and further advance their herd.

We pride ourselves in breeding bulls with extra constitution, natural substance and predictable carcass traits. These factors have amounted to a strong following of clients from Central and Western Queensland with progeny from Bauhinia Park bulls regularly topping saleyard prices and hitting market specs. Ours bulls are ideal for crossbreeding and pass on key traits:

-
Weight for age
-
Temperament
-
Fertility
-
Ability to finish on grass or in a feedlot at a younger age with higher than average IMF and MSA grading percentages

Polled heads – we are also listening to industry demands and have been carefully adding the influence of poll genetics to our herd for some time now. A good foundation of poll stud females has been produced and whilst high quality poll sires are not always easy to find, we feel the stud is in good stead with our very strong sire battery of poll bulls.
